i am such an idiot

ok dudes, listen up. So not only can't i spell worth shiz (for example, Whales the country? nah. it's WALES abby, duh), but i do the dumbest things. one of my earliest experiences is the time that i told a boy i loved him in the 5th grade: worst experience ever because not only did he laugh at me, the entire population of my school found out. AND i had braces at the time which made it even worse. imagine me as a 5th grader with my jelly pens, braces, and a Presbyterian uniform telling the cutest guy in my grade that I luuuved him.....are you imagining it right now? good. are you cringing as you read this? you better because it was humiliating.
anyways, back to my story. so, my friend Melissa has been staying with me for about a week. she had a train leaving for Prague tonight, so i decided to go to the train station and see her off to the unknown. so, we got to the train station, the train came, i got on the train to help her with her bags and to say goodbye. suddenly, the train started moving and i was freaking out. i was so mad that i said some stuff that i probably shouldn't have said and then sat down by Melissa. we looked at each other and started laughing. luckily the next stop was just 20 minutes outside of the neuch, so i got off and waited fo the train home.
well, that's my story. it's probably not as exciting as i think it is. maybe you liked my 5th grader story better. i guess you'd have to be there.
going to bed. night all ya'll! cheers.

***Vivienne***

I Wold like to write about a person who is very dear to me. Her name is Vivienne. I knew that we would become friends from the start because of her name. She was born in London but grew up in Whales. She is a student at University of Kent and her major is French and Spanish. Her favorite color is green. I asked her some questions about life in Switzerland and such:

Where do you see yourself in five years?
No idea...Canada?

What's your favorite pass time?
hanging out

What do you think of Neuchatel?
It's pretty

What do you miss the most?
I miss Canterbury and my friends back home

What's your favorite band?
I have two: A Perfect Circle and Deftones

What's your favorite movie?
I have three: Goonies, Wayne's World and Star Wars....THE Star Wars

What city do you want to visit?
I want to visit Canada for the snowboarding

What's your favorite moment in the Neuch?
Fete de Vendage and going to Laussane for a night

What do you think of Champreveyre?
It's a shit hole, but I have had the best time here

What's your motto?
Things seem tough, but I'm not going to care about it in a week. In other words, don't take life too seriously

What has been the theme song for this semester?
"Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga
"I've Got a Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas

What's the ultimate quote of the semester?
"Bitch, please"
"Give me some waffle fries...for free"

I'm really glad that I met this lady. She is super cool and she has been there for me this semester. I heart you Vivi!! Please come and visit me in august ok?! Cheers.

Turkey Day Sans* Turkey

OK OK, I know that this is a little late, but here are some pictures of Thanksgiving in the Neuch. Andres and I decided to make a little dinner for our European friends. I specifically made cranberry sauce and apple pie [which was in a tart part, so I guess it was technically an apple tart...whatevs]. We couldn't find a turkey, so we had to eat chicken instead...typical. It was so much fun! I made everyone say something that they were grateful for in their own language. It was so cool!!! Go American traditions!!!

***Lena Lu***

So it's one of my very good friends birthday today. I wish that I could give her a big hug and kiss, but sadly I'm on the other side of the world. So I guess blogging about her is the closest thing. I've known Lena since the 4th grade. We've had our moments: she thought that I was super annoying in the 7th grade. lols. But we've become the closest of friends and I am so blessed to have her in my life. I miss her so much! So, give a big cheer to Lena!!! I love you baby girl and I hope that you have a wonderful birthday!!!

Gobble gobble

Thanksgiving is here! I'm not gonna lie, I've never really been a big fan of Thanksgiving, but, being in a country where no one knows what it is, makes me nostalgic. Here is my ode to the turkey holiday--I am thankful for:

1. My family.
They support me through everything. I love them so much even though they can be a pain sometimes. I wouldn't trade them for a hundred pair of Malono Blahnik shoes.

2. My friends.
It's really refreshing to have people who not only laugh at me, but laugh with me.

3. Toilet paper.

Enough said.

4. Bjork.

Whenever I think that I am insane, or someone is staring at me and my weird outfit(s), I look at Bjork and think, wow, my life is pretty normal.

All in all, I am thankful for a lot of things, but these are def. the top four on my list right now... Happy Thanksgiving, I hope that it is wonderful and bright with cheesiness and fuzzy animals.

One thing you didn't know about me...

I play guitar.
Ha! Actually, I can only play one and a half songs.
I've always wanted to learn because I have a lot of friends who are very talented musicians
....sigh.
I miss them.

Schaffhausen

I went to Schaffhausen last weekend with my friend Nina. She's from there originally and she speaks Swiss-German. It's so bizarre to me because she speaks like an American. I remember meeting her for the first time in class and thinking that she was from California or somewhere in the west because of her accent, but alas, she's cooler than a Californian: she's Swiss. ANYWAYS, we stayed at her grandpa's house which was super cool. He has this cat named Aristotle (a Greek lady gave him the cat), and Ari slept on my bed EVERY NIGHT. I miss having a pet. Pappi, can we get a cat when I come back home? Think about it, ok? Cool. It's beautiful in the Schaff. It feels like a very old swiss city. Oh wait it is! No but really, it's super cool. It has the biggest water fall in Europe. It's called the Rhine Falls, and it was beautiful. No Niagra of course, but it was still freakin' cool. I now wish I knew Swiss-German instead of french. Sad Face. Overall, the Schaff is definitely my new vacay spot whilst I'm in the Swiss-land. Cheers!

***Andres***

I've decided that I'm going to tell you about some of my friends that I have met over here in the Neuch. Honestly, I am quite surprised that I have made so many friends here. I thought that I might meet a couple of people, but mostly just keep to myself, study, be lonely, etc. But I am very lucky to have found some quite amazing people. Ok, here it goes!

Meet Andres. He lives in the same apartment building as I do. He's super awesome. The first time that I met him, I was super intimidated, but after hanging out a couple of times, we have become the best of friends. Here are some facts:
1. He's from San Antonio, Texas
2. Every Halloween, he dresses up like a vampire. But this Halloween, I gave him the idea to be Alex from Clockwork Orange. He totally rocked it.
3. He misses 24 hour restaurants in America.
4. He loves Neuchatel because it's super pretty and he wakes up every morning to a beautiful view of the lake (I'm jealous: I wake up to the view of an another apartment building).
5. Hot Chip is a band that he could listen to over and over again and not get sick of.
6.He's an English literature major.
7. His top three favorite author's are: Faulkner, D.H. Laurence, and Jorge Louise Borges.

I'm super stoked that I met Andres. He's been a great friend and he's always up for a good time. I Heart him! :)

The Fun Fun!!!

The other day my some of my friends {Vivienne, Andres and Nina} and I decided to go on top of a mountain. Let me explain something, k? So, basically, the Neuch is squashed in the middle of a lake and a plethora of mountains. Basically, Neuchatel is on the side of a mountain. There, that clears is up. Anywho, There is a funicular that is really close to our apartment building, and we decided to go up and ch-check it out! It was all foggy and stuff, but it seemed like a good idea...and it was. Mom and Pappi, when you come and visit me, I'm gonna take you up here because it's awesome!!!

Sushi Party = Christmas but with Rice

So, my good friends Elise and Mike invited some people over for sushi. We all got together and made some deliciousness. My friend Nicholas fried some shrimp and then we rolled some sushiness. It's no Happy Sumo, but it was good enough. I ate so freakin' much that I was pretty much bloated for the whole day after wards. I wouldn't tell you this information unless it was completely unnecessary, but it is. Go make some sushi! It's a great pass-time I'm tellin' ya!
