Aaron the Canadian

So i am an idiot. it was my very very good friend's birthday yesterday and i didn't know until he told me on facebook chat. i am a total shmuck, but we all know this. anyways, enough about me. this is about on of my closest friends (even though he lives around the world practically), aaron.
the first time i met this boy, i thought he was a total douche, but spending time with him erryday for about ten months, i've come to love this boy.

so here are five things that i love about aaron:

1. he makes a mean cheeseburger
2. he got me obsessed with watches
3. he takes AMAZING pictures
4. he got me a "Hot Mess" cup for my birthday
5. he is an amazing friend

i love you so so much aaron! i am very lucky to have you in my life. BISOUS!

Banabigail

{banabigail's muse}

i've been meaning to put these pics up for awhile now. so basically the story is that the last night i was in neuchy neuch, me and my friends pulled an all-nighter and went out and had crazy fun times. i borrowed this greenish-yellow dress from my friend isabelle and my friend ben commented that i looked like a banana (ummm...RUDE). the next day, we went and watched some of the world cup and i was kind of depressed because, not only did england lose against germany, i was going back home to salt lake city. anyways, to be funny, my friend, alex, bought a banana and put lipstick and drew a dress on the banana and named it "banana-abby" i changed is to "banabigail" because it sounds better. haha. so they went around neuch and took pictures of banabigail in her daily life. here is some photos:

bitter sweet

well, i'm just taking a break from packing up everything. i leave the swissland on monday morning. it's so weird to think that i came here in september. it's just gone by so so fast and i really don't know how to handle it.
at the same time, i'm super stoked to go "home" --it just sounds weird: Neucatel is my home now-- and to see my friends and family. my favorite holiday is coming up: 4th of July. HAZZAH.
anyways, i'm just rambling...i just wanted to write something.
here's a picture of Lady GaGa in a trash can in New York City.

***Caitlin***

so, it was my best friend's birthday the other day. she turned 2one (my 'one' button doesn't work on my compy). it's amazing how time flies. i just remember us through the years: us in kindergarten with our short haircuts, being in elementary school and having our own science club (the volcano?! amazing), me acting like a pregnant lady on the pirate-ship ride, going to canyon lands and painting ourselves in mud (disco cow anyone?), our studio apartment freshman year, newport, scraping caiti's dad's car by the gas pump, new york city....ah, the memories. i miss my caitikins so much. I love you like a fat kid loves cake. Happy Birthday.

My Small but Beautiful Mother

It's my mom's birthday today. She's turning 42. Not really though, we just say that every year. Ha! I wish I was in Utah for just a few hours so I could give her a big hug and take her out to dinner or something. Unfortunately, I am a few thousand miles away, so I thought a posting on my blog would do.
I think since I've gotten older I see how imperfect my parents are, and at first it's heartbreaking because they've taught me everything I know, but then I realized even though they aren't perfect, they still did one hell of a job. And that's why I love my mom. She's funny/quirky and she has this ability to show unconditional love to everyone. I've learned so much from her triumphs and from her mistakes. She's made me the person I am today. I love you mommasita and I hope that you read this soon!

Turkey Day Sans* Turkey

OK OK, I know that this is a little late, but here are some pictures of Thanksgiving in the Neuch. Andres and I decided to make a little dinner for our European friends. I specifically made cranberry sauce and apple pie [which was in a tart part, so I guess it was technically an apple tart...whatevs]. We couldn't find a turkey, so we had to eat chicken instead...typical. It was so much fun! I made everyone say something that they were grateful for in their own language. It was so cool!!! Go American traditions!!!

Gobble gobble

Thanksgiving is here! I'm not gonna lie, I've never really been a big fan of Thanksgiving, but, being in a country where no one knows what it is, makes me nostalgic. Here is my ode to the turkey holiday--I am thankful for:

1. My family.
They support me through everything. I love them so much even though they can be a pain sometimes. I wouldn't trade them for a hundred pair of Malono Blahnik shoes.

2. My friends.
It's really refreshing to have people who not only laugh at me, but laugh with me.

3. Toilet paper.

Enough said.

4. Bjork.

Whenever I think that I am insane, or someone is staring at me and my weird outfit(s), I look at Bjork and think, wow, my life is pretty normal.

All in all, I am thankful for a lot of things, but these are def. the top four on my list right now... Happy Thanksgiving, I hope that it is wonderful and bright with cheesiness and fuzzy animals.

One thing you didn't know about me...

I play guitar.
Ha! Actually, I can only play one and a half songs.
I've always wanted to learn because I have a lot of friends who are very talented musicians
....sigh.
I miss them.
