if you know what's good for you

so, i'm almost done with finals (hoooooorayyyyy) but i'm still a little cranky. i'm in the library trying to write my chinese art paper and i keep getting a little distracted (thank you, lamebook). anyways, it's the winter season and people have started to wear the usual: hats, scarves, boots, coats...everything that i loooove to wear, but then i keep seeing these horrid things around campus and just everywhere in general. what you may ask?

THESE:

if you know what's good for you...don't wear these in my presence. these are ugly and not cute and not fashionable. especially when you wear them with victoria secret sweats that say PINK on the butt, a ralph lauren sweater and your ugg boots. really right now? if anyone buys this for me, they are dead...at least to me. maybe it's because i'm in a slightly dazed/horrid mood or maybe because these are dirt ass ugly, but i just don't like 'em.

So, my sister and the kids flew over from San Diego to spend some quality time with the fam this past weekend. We had a huge dinner the night before thanksgiving. it was so much fun and i really missed my sisters. overall, it was a really good weekend of thanks and giving: a lot of my friends came back from their uni's, i got to see a lot of my relatives and ate a lot of food. perfect set up, yeah? i thought so...

Banabigail

{banabigail's muse}

i've been meaning to put these pics up for awhile now. so basically the story is that the last night i was in neuchy neuch, me and my friends pulled an all-nighter and went out and had crazy fun times. i borrowed this greenish-yellow dress from my friend isabelle and my friend ben commented that i looked like a banana (ummm...RUDE). the next day, we went and watched some of the world cup and i was kind of depressed because, not only did england lose against germany, i was going back home to salt lake city. anyways, to be funny, my friend, alex, bought a banana and put lipstick and drew a dress on the banana and named it "banana-abby" i changed is to "banabigail" because it sounds better. haha. so they went around neuch and took pictures of banabigail in her daily life. here is some photos:

i heart fall holidays

i freakin' love halloween. i love dressing up in ridiculous outfits and eating so much candy that i can't stand properly. i get so excited that i've already been thinking about my outfit for next year! no, i can't tell you: it's too epic to even speak of.
anyways, Halloween was this weekend, technically on sunday, but i've been celebrating this holiday since thursday. too many stories, not enough room on my blog. haha. here are some pictures from saturday night. ENJOY!

you know what I like about midterms?

absolutely nothing. I don't like:
1. the stress
2. the anxiety
3. not being able to enjoy a good bowl of mac and cheese
4. waking up {in cold sweat} in the middle of the night and yelling out: "EASTERN ZHOU WAS FROM 770-256 BCE!!!!"
4. living at the library where people yell at me for eating hummus and pita bread

Nothing. Nothing at all is appealing about the beginning of October, which is also known as hell week or....midterms....

ugh it's like saying Voldemort out loud.

couture-ache

[if you don't already know this about me] i love fashion. when i was in highschool, i was in AP Studio Art with a concentration in fashion design. i was completely obsessed. i would get so excited to go online and check out new collections from designers. instead of procrastinating on facebook or solitaire like every other student, i would spend hours upon hours researching fashion lines and fashion shows. i would form my own opinions as to what trends would flee in five weeks and what would become revolutionary in the fashion world. to me, fashion is a way of expressing oneself: it's art. i know it sounds stupid. i would have to sell my right kidney just to buy one couture dress from Chanel or Oscar de la Renta. but a girl can dream eh? anyways, i know that this is such a random post, but i was reading an article in the New York Times about fashion week in New York and a warm fuzzy/nostalgic feeling came wafting over me. i went online and went straight for Fall 2010 couture collections. some of them were ok; Givenchy and Chanel were disappointing, but, oh boy, Christian Dior....i feel like a school girl with a new crush. j'adore Dior.

Raclettelicious

I've been staying here in Neuchatel with my very very good friend, Alex. he's been so kind to me and not too annoyed with me [i forgot to lock the doors to the apartment a couple of times...my bad!]. anyways, he came back from work last night and i told him that we were going to do something fabulous. we got dressed up and went out for dinner at this great little restaurant [the tavern?]. we ate Raclette, had a bottle of white wine and laughed the night away. it was a perfect night.

sharks are always funny

recently, i've been having super crappy crap days. no, i don't have the runs, but i'd prefer them right now than dealing with this clusterf*ck. i won't go into details because i rather be complaining about my mundane life to someone who probably doesn't care. ha! anyways, i feel like the only way to deal with stinky situations is to: 1. swear a lot 2. make mean faces or 3. find something that makes you chuckle for a bit {i always love an instant-gratificator (is that a word?)}. well, i did all three and i feel a little bit better already.

Holla Holla White Wata!!!!!

So, a couple of weeks before school started, my good good friend, Lena, invited to go to Buena Vista, Colorado for the weekend. it was fabulous. i met some really fun and interesting people from Lena's college, Redlands. we went hiking, white water rafting and singing random songs by the camp fire. ah! good times. i hope we do it again next year!!! HOLLA!

she don't believe in shooting staaaars

So, in Utah. We celebrate pioneer day which is when the mormon pioneers came through emigration canyon (where i grew up as a child) and settled down in the place that is now called salt lake city, utah. it's one of the funnest holidays. I mean, 4th of july is my favorite holiday, but what happens after the 4th of july? well, if you live in other states, nothing. BUT pioneer day is, like, TWO weeks after the 4th. basically it's the 4th of july's half brother: you eat a lot of food and there are fireworks going off every half hour through out the salt lake valley. it's amazing and kind of scary if you think about it, because it's prolly super easy to just kill someone with a shot gun and know one would think it was murder because of the explosions going on....just think about it ok? Anyways, the 24th was wonderful and i got to hang out with some amazing people. yayayayaya!

don't call me junior 'cause i'm 21

so, last friday was my 21st birthday. it was wonderful. usually, i don't really like my birthday, but you only turn 21 once eh? all morning i spent trying to get my driver's license. no such luck (stupid Utah laws). then i went to lunch with my grandparents and my mother. it was so much fun and i'm so grateful because they bought me a beautiful birthday dress that i will treasure forever. my sister semi-did my make up. i took a nap. and then went to my fabulous birthday party hosted by my friend, Albert. it was a wonderful birthday. i love my family. love my friends. and love the days where we all come together and create memories.
oh wow this is super cheese.

BEIRUT

{Bek bek and me}

So, in Salt Lake City, every summer we have the Twilight Concert Series where well-known bands come and and play for free. In the past years, the concert has been held at Gallivan Plaza, but this year, because of how popular it has become, the Twilight series is now held at Pioneer Park ( this place is basically known for being one of the sketchiest parks in SLC because of all the homeless people who camp out there).
I was so excited because the second week that i was back in amurrica, Modest Mouse was kicking the series off. I was sooo stoked because the last concert that i went to in the states was Modest Mouse. Unfortunately, it was one of the biggest concerts that Twilight has ever seen: 40,000 people came, not just from utah, but from colorado, arizona, etc. it was absolutely ridiculous!!! i was so angry and i promised myself that i wasn't going to go anymore.
well, i broke that promise. my friend Bekah and i went to see Twin Sister and, one of my favorite bands, Beirut. I started listening to Beirut my senior year of high school. I remember dancing around my room to songs like Nantes and Postcards from Italy. --sigh--
let me just say that it was one of the best concerts that i've been to. i say that a lot, but it's true. mind you, there were a lot of rude people that don't understand the greatness of Beirut. i kind of wanted to kick peoples' shins just to get them to shut up, but i am a lady, so i didn't. overall, i will always have fond memories of beirut and can now check them off of my bucket list. CHECK!
