The Beautiful City of Neuchatel

So, it's beautiful here. Apparently, it gets pretty dead looking in the winter, so I have to appreciate the beauty while it lasts. But the I've almost been here for a week and it's just awesome. People here are so nice. AND the public transportation here is pretty good. I haven't riden on a bus since Montreal, so it's pretty intense. Anyways, here are some kewl pics that I took with Mariella (my digital camera). Enjoy!!!

On My Way to the Neuch

So, My last day in the states (for awhile). My dad took me to the airport. (My friend Caiti was supposed to come, but she couldn't get work off.) One of my bags was 54 pounds! If ones bag is over 50 pounds then one has to pay $150! OMG.
(<---Me on my airport attire: Jeans, American Apparel jacket, and silver cowboy boots)
So, I was trying to find a way to shift all of my stuff. (Pappi and me at the airport hangin' out and having senitmentals conversations --->)Most of it was liquid so it was kind of tricky, but I figured out a way! yaaaay! Man I love being cheap...anyways, usually when I fly, something always goes wrong. For instance, I did a study a
(Me and Lenny having some sentimental conversations)
abroad in Montreal the summer between my Junior and Senior year of highschool. First off, I woke up really late. I had five minutes to get everything in my car. My dad was going crazy and I was on the verge of crying because I was so stressed. And then, I don't know why, but ALL OF THE FREAKIN' HIGHWAYS WERE CLOSED. So, we had to drive on backroads and stuff. Luckily, I got to my gate ontime and I had fifteen minutes or so before my plane took off.
So, I was just sitting there and I took a little nap. My plane took off five minutes before I woke up. Apparently, they called my name about fifteen times. I WAS RIGHT THERE THE WHOLE TIME! OMG. I don't even know. Luckily I got on a different plane and stuff. I got to montreal that night, but they lost my bag. Like everyone elses bag, it was a black, rolling suitcase. It finally rolled aroung (haha) a couple of days later, but still! One of the most stressful trips I have ever been on. Good times.

Luckily, that didn't happen this time. Everything went as smooth as butter. Well, except for going through the Frankfurt airport in my silver cowboy boots. I got a lot of weird looks, but I think, unconsciously (obviously), I liked the attention. ;)

Switzerland does not equal Sweden

So, for those who don't know I, abby, am going off to Europe for ten months. No, I am not pregnant and if I was, my dad would not waste his precious money to send me off to give birth to a child. This is not the fifties people!!! Anyways, I'm doing a full year study abroad in Neuchatel, Switzerland. My major is French with a minor in Art History. It's my junior year at the university and I have been planning on doing a wicked study abroad like this one since I was a sophomore in highschool. Hey, I have big dreams!

So I have bee telling people that I'm off to the switzerland for awhile ( it's a good conversation starter), but, I don't know why, maybe people haven't taken geography, but people keep saying "Oh well, you look Swedish, so you'll just fit right in!" ......????? At first I just never corrected them. Why? I don't know, but I felt bad for them. But it happened so much that after awhile I was so fed up with it that I would just say "That's sweet, but that's Sweden: poeple from Sweden are swedish." They would get so embarrased, and I felt bad, but it had to happen.

Anyways, about my trip. I am super nervous. My visa hasn't come in yet, and I feel that I might have to marry a Swiss man just to be able to stay in the country to go to school....haha! I'm just axcited to go to school. I'm a nerd, but when school starts, I get so excited! The first couple of weeks of school, I just get really organized and read and do homework every night to be on top of my game, but then after that I'm just thinking "When in the hell is this semester going to be OVER??!!!" Ha! Anyways, I'm going to make a promise to write on this blog more because....ya.

Anywho, ummmm ya that's about all I wanted to write so byyyyyye!!!!

k, so this might make you cringe....

So, last night I went of to my best bud's house, Patrick Buie. He's probably one of the

coolest men I know of because he makes me laugh like a loon and he has great dress sense.

ANYWAYS, enough of the compliments already! ugh. Silly me. So, something happened last

night that was so strange and uncomfortable and exciting that happens to involve some fluids.

Specifically mine. Take my hand and lets go....I like the night life baby....

SOOOOOOOOOOOO. I've had this certain...boil on the back of my right leg for the past

three months. Since I'm a hypochondriac, I thought that it was some sort of cancerous thing, or

at least a cyst. I showed this said thing to me patty pat pat and he was all like "let's try and pop

it!" and before I could say anything, or move my leg away, he put his trombone spitter thing on

the side of the said magical bulge on my leg. I thought nothing would happen, so I put my

finger on the other side of it. We squeeze together in perfect harmony. Tout a coup, this white

pasty puss shot out of the mountainous bump. We both freaked out. I was so embarrassed and

shocked that I ran to the bathroom to finish the job....we both decided that it was a huge zit.

It was such a fanastical experience that we both laughed and laughed after it. Let's just say

that that moment brought me and Mr Buie closer together than we have ever have before...The

End.

Procastination (abby's pensations)

What's the best thing to do when you're procrastinating writing a paper about the Mundurucu culture? To write about yourself of course!!!! omg. It's so fun. So, I am now nineteen soon to be 20 in the july, I've decided that I should probably write shtuffs about meself so that I can look at this entry two years from now and see how I've changed...profusely? hmmm. HERE IT GOES!!!

1. favourite colour: purple
2. favourite food: mac n' cheese, grilled cheese, parmesan chicken...basically anything with cheese on it, then I'm set
3. Favourite movie: I really  enjoyed Adventureland. It was pretty good.
4. Favourite books: I read the the Twilight series....meh. I didn't want to get too attached otherwise I would expect a real man to be exactly like Edward....
5. Favourite clothing stores: Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, Anthropology, The D.I., Decades.
6. Favourite music: Yelle, Lady Gaga, Talking Heads, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Patterstats, etc.
7. Favourite words: chateau, shmeh shmeh, superfluous, tranquility
8. Hobbies: I really like running...actually, let me rephrase this: I LOATH running, but it keeps me in good health, and it's better than being in a class with sweaty old ladies...

There you have it! the first blog in a long time. Or at least the first one of 2009!! There will be more to come. Even if it's just me and Bekah writing to ourselves....anywho, I love you all! peace.

can you dig it?

I work with some very entertaining people. A few weeks ago, one of them (whom I find particularly hilarious) recommended a film to me: The Warriors.

Well, I finally got around to watching it and... wow. There are no words. Or maybe there are too many. This is why I dig it:
  • Every character looks like a model. No joke. Especially Swan, the "warlord", with his pouty face and red leather vest.
  • Gangs +Uniforms= Awesome. From the overall-wearing, rollerskatering Punks to the Baseball Furies, these gangs dress to impress. Even the Orphans match!
  • Comic Book weirdness. Every so often, a comic book image pops up with rad captions.
  • There's a chick gang(The Lizzies) that seduces our young heroes(The Warriors)!
  • The corsage.
Go get it. Now.

P.S. Can you count, suckas?!?!
